The location, surrounded by high family towers, medieval trading houses and representative patrician residences, is unique. In the immediate vicinity, the two cathedral towers rise over 100 meters into the sky and just a stone’s throw away the Stone Bridge, the medieval architectural wonder, spans the Danube.

The “Zur weisse Taube” restaurant from 1822 was renamed the Münchner Hof almost 75 years later, because it was the only restaurant in Regensburg and the surrounding area that was already getting the world-famous beer from Munich at the time. This was delivered once a week by horse-drawn carriage. So the renaming to “Münchner Hof” was a clever marketing measure.
In 1937 the restaurant became a hotel with a restaurant.
Since then, the “Münchner Hof” has been a company run by the 3rd generation of families and the bosses are all women:
Emma Wanninger (grandmother), Karin Helmberger (mother) and Kathrin Fuchshuber (daughter).[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The owners of the Munich Hof

Subsequent watercolors were made in 1979 by the Austrian artist Lisl Spurni – a family friend[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”9837″ img_size=”medium” css=”.vc_custom_1622030663794{background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: contain !important;}”][vc_column_text]Emma Wanninger, geb.
